Terms and Conditions
The Portal de Alojamento Universitário(hereinafter, the “Portal”) is a service provided to students and other interested parties for the purpose of publishing housing opportunities submitted by private individuals or property owners, hereinafter referred to as “Advertisers”.
1. Registration
a) Users may freely browse all available listings without the need to register.
b) Property owners must register using a valid email address. Account activation is subject to approval by the Portal administration.
c) Once validated, property owners are referred to as Advertisers.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the Portal, both Users and Advertisers accept, without reservation, these Terms and Conditions and agree to comply with them whenever using the platform.
3. Property Listings
Each Advertiser may list one or more properties by creating a separate listing for each accommodation. Data registration is required only once per account.
4. Payment
Each listing is subject to a fee of €10 (ten euros), including VAT, valid for a period of 12 months.
Payment is made directly through the Portal, with processing handled by SIBS (payment service provider). The following payment methods are available:
- Credit Card
- MB WAY
- Multibanco Reference
Once payment is confirmed, a corresponding invoice/receipt will be sent automatically to the email address associated with the account.
5. Data Publication
Listings will only be published after approval by the Portal administration and successful confirmation of payment.
6. Listing Validity
Each listing remains active for 12 months from the date of publication.
An expiry notification will be sent via email as the end date approaches.
During the validity period, Advertisers may edit listing details, with the exception of free-text fields.
7. Responsibility for Data
Advertisers are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and updating of the information provided.
All submitted content is subject to review prior to publication.
8. Conduct and Legal Compliance
Users and Advertisers agree to:
a) Comply with applicable laws for online services;
b) Not upload or share illegal, offensive, defamatory, obscene, or discriminatory content;
c) Not create false identities to deceive other users;
d) Not transmit viruses or malicious software through the Portal;
e) Not infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
f) Not attempt to access data or accounts of other users.
9. Suspension or Termination of Service
The Portal administration reserves the right to suspend or remove any content in case of violation of these Terms.
Service availability is not guaranteed, and the Portal is not liable for technical failures, data loss, or transmission delays.
10. Disclaimer of Liability
a) The Portal and its content are provided “as is”, without any express or implied warranties.
b) The administration does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or virus-free operation of the Portal.
c) The Portal shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from use, including data loss or business interruption.
d) Continuous access to the Portal is not guaranteed.
e) The Portal serves solely as a platform for publishing accommodation listings. It does not intervene in or take responsibility for any stage of the rental process, nor for communications, negotiations, agreements, payments, visits, contracts, or relationships established between users and advertisers.
11. Cookies
The Portal uses cookies to improve the browsing experience.
Users may accept or reject cookies. Please note that rejecting cookies may impair the functionality of certain features. See our Cookie Policy.
12. External Links
The Portal administration is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external websites linked through the Portal. Users visit such sites at their own risk.
13. Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.
If any clause is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
14. Amendments
The Portal administration reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Amendments take effect upon publication.
Users who do not accept the updated terms must cease using the Portal.
15. Privacy Policy
Use of the Portal is subject to our Privacy Policy, which outlines your data rights and how personal information is handled.
